Sleeping Beauty For All Summer School
14th, 15th and 16th August 2009.

Dancing Academy would like to offer a huge thank you to all those who helped make this years summer school a huge success. To all our helpers for all that they did, and to all our ballerinas, both adult and child, who put on such a good show, all within three days. Some of our dancers have never performed before and we think they all did tremendously.
Once again we cannot thank Kimberly Rawson enough for taking time from her busy schedule as a professional ballerina and giving us all an insight into this wonderful art and profession.
Sleeping Beauty For All Summer School
14th, 15th and 16th August 2009.
Following on from the success of last years Swan Lake For All, this year Dancing Academy are offering a three day summer school for all ages of children, students and adults; for members and none members with a Sleeping Beauty theme.
Our summer school will be based on the ballet Sleeping Beauty giving all involved a wonderful opportunity to experience one of the most famous ballets.
Professional Ballerina and Royal Ballet graduate Kimberley Rawson: (RAD RTS PDTD) will be joining us again and will be offering insight into the choreography of this Ballet. Kimberley will provide a unique experience for all who attend this summer school. As well as insight into choreography Kimberley will also be teaching ballet classes to students.
Places are limited, to avoid disappointment please contact us to reserve a place as soon as possible.
The days will be split into the following:
Morning session 1: 9.30 - 11.00
This session is for the very young children aged three to five. Including ballet dancing, costume making and Sleeping Beauty choreography; with rehearsals for the performance on day three.
Morning session 2: 9.30 - 12.00
This session is for older children aged between six and eleven. Including ballet dancing and Sleeping Beauty choreography; with rehearsals for the performance on day three.
Afternoon sessions: 12.00pm - 5.30pm
This session is for older students and adults from 12 upwards. Classes will be divided into appropriate age ranges and abilities. Including freestyle ballet class, Pilates core training class, technique advice, Sleeping Beauty choreography, pointe work (if appropriate) and rehearsals for the performance on day three.
Any level of experience is welcome from complete novice to experienced dancers. There will be something for everyone and all abilities. Please call to discuss.
Prices for the w.end:
3-5yrs: £22.50
6-11yrs: £25
12-adults: £35
Performance: This will be held at the end of day three. Tickets will be sold for a small price of £3.00 per ticket to cover the cost of venue hire.

ancing Academy is offering an Introduction to ballet for beginners on Sunday 11th January from 10am - 12pm. The workshop will be held in Chippenham, Wiltshire. The venue is to be confirmed.
New Year’s Beginners Introduction Workshop For Adult Ballet.
Are you interested in Adult Ballet but have never done it before? Nervous about trying ballet? Concerned about age? Would you like to sample ballet before embarking on term of lessons?
Dancing Academy is offering an Introduction to ballet for beginners on Sunday 11th January from 10am - 12pm. The workshop will be held in Chippenham, Wiltshire. The venue is to be confirmed.

What Is Adult Ballet?
Adult ballet classes offer students the opportunity to enjoy the art of classical ballet whilst developing grace, flexibility and strength. It is suitable for both beginners and those who have enjoyed ballet previously.
Who Is Adult Ballet For?
Adult ballet is suitable for a range of body shapes, sizes and fitness levels. In an adult ballet class you will be taught classical technique but this remains within the capabilities of a non professional dancer.
Why Try Adult Ballet?
Regularly attending adult ballet has many benefits. It is social, improves posture, increases flexibility, encourages weight loss, challenges the mind and body and develops spacial awareness.
